Heritage Shores Welcomes New Management

On June 1, 2010 Heritage Shores went through a re-alignment of the Food and Beverage staff including hiring a new General Manager, Jason Feller, Executive Chef, Travis Simmons and Catering Manager, Katie Simmons. What this means for the Community of Heritage Shores and the surrounding town of Bridgeville is hopefully a change for the better. Our past chef, Frank Dubinski, has been retained as Chef de Cuisine due to the many talents he has and the quality of food being offered. The addition of Chef Travis Simmons will allow us to have multiple talents in the kitchen, his background varies from opening of restaurants and hotel operations to working in exclusive private clubs. Katie Simmons, a Western Golf Properties veteran, brings her sales abilities and Food and Beverage knowledge into the Catering role. Once your date is booked, Katie will work with our Banquet Manger, Debbie Martino, in ensure all of your expectations are met. Katie will take the details and assist in guiding your linen selection, table layouts, menus and much more.

As for Jason Feller, our new General Manager, his experience in the field started with his high school education in Towson, MD at Carver Center for Art and Technology. Having a love for culinary arts and original dream of becoming a chef he transferred into the magnet program and also held jobs at a local country club and restaurant. Jason has worked in every role in restaurants from washing dishes, working the sauté and broiler stations, bussing tables, serving, and bartending to running banquets and multiple dining rooms. Once entering College at the University of Delaware he took summer stints at Baltimore Country Club, Hyatt Regency Baltimore and Wilmington Country Club. At Wilmington Country Club he took a role as a Dining Room Supervisor and assisted in Managing the Casual and Formal Dining Rooms and is where he started his education of wines.

From Wilmington Country Club he moved to be the Beverage Manager at Atlanta Athletic Club, a premier club located north of Atlanta. While in Atlanta aside from the experience running the bars, he was also given the opportunity to run the a la carte casual dining room on property that was serving approximately 70,000 covers per year. In 2006 Jason moved to Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase Maryland. As the Clubhouse Manager Jason’s main oversight was in food and beverage operations. This included a busy banquet facility, three casual ala carte restaurants, fine dining and theme events. In addition to Food and Beverage his responsibilities included safety on property for members and employees, housekeeping, club activities, internal marketing including bulletins, website, emails and posters. During his time at Columbia Country Club he took part in creating standards of operation for a new 35,000 square foot family activities building, including the creation of a child minding facility, game rooms, exercise and fitness rooms, indoor pool, outdoor pool, ice-rink, poolside cafĂ© and bowling center.

Jason is the proud husband of Wendy Tozer Feller and father of a 14 month old daughter McKenzie Ann. He looks forward to the move to Delaware and raising McKenzie in a wonderful family oriented environment.
